FISHPOND NIPA HARVEST - New Roof For My Filipino Home Cateel Davao

NIPA IS EVERYWHERE HERE, and it is a hugely important source of income for the locals here in Barangay Baybay, Cateel, especially for the women.

And so I tried to harvest the nipa beside my fishpond, since I needed to replace the native roof on my house there. Then I was taught how to make the nipa roof "panels" - with similar lack of success!

A different kind of harvest from the usual ones at the fishpond, but there we go!
