NEW FISHPOND Tilapia Supports Local Philippines Community

SYUM BULOL MEANS NINE MOUNTAINS IN TBOLI. And this unique community is located on a ridge surrounded by those mountains. A few years ago water flowed into a formerly grassy area at the bottom of the village, forming a fishpond. 6 months ago, it was stocked with tilapia, they fed the tilapia with locally grown corn, and they have produced great results!

This community is five hours walk from the nearest road, and then up to two hours drive to the centre of town. It is truly far-flung. And this pond has helped their food supply immensely.
